Mistake 2: Using the excuse that "my kids (or myself!) will never want to eat GAPS foods."


SPOILER ALERT:

Cravings or aversions to food aren't something to punish yourself (or your kids) over. 

Our gut bacteria determines what food sounds good or is repulsive to us. 

And changing this is totally within our control!

Healthy gut flora = a desire for real, nourishing food.

When our gut bacteria starts to become healthier, we start to want the foods that our body needs to rebuild and heal. The junk foods we used to crave don't even sound good anymore. 

This is the start of something so important: Really being in tune with what our body is saying. 

Over time, as the gut bacteria balance is restored with healthier flora, the body will ask for certain foods and other things, depending on what it needs at any given time.

Mistake 3: Using the excuse that "GAPS is not an enjoyable way to eat."

That's the kinds of food we enjoy on the GAPS diet. Full, nutrient dense, nourishing, delicious traditional foods that fed our healthiest ancestors. 

Healing food = delicious, satisfying food.

If you're used to fad diets and depriving yourself, prepare for a big change. The GAPS diet isn't about deprivation or restriction, it is about satisfying and nourishing the body so that the body can have the tools it needs to rebuild itself.

Start to wrap your mind around just how abundant good food is on GAPS: Rich broths, zesty ferments, succulent meats, and filling meals. It doesn't have to be complicated, either. Sometimes a big, bone in beef roast cooked until it's perfectly tender in broth with soft, sweet carrots and turnips served with some sauerkraut on the side is just what your body needs.

Hi, I'm Marisa!


I'm a mom of 3 and certified GAPS coach. I teach busy people how to make nourishing meals doable and delicious so that they can expereince the benefits of real, nutrient dense food.

My favorite things to geek out about are string instrument repair, classical music, beef tallow (it's amazing!) and wellness through nutrient dense food.

Do I need to be good at cooking? Not at all! I teach everything you need to know about GAPS cooking techniques.
